Description

MOMO Steering Wheel Hub Boss Kit

Used when fitting an aftermarket steering wheel, a hub kit is an essential component to your vehicle.

MOMO is the company that invented and market-launched the first collapsible steering wheel hub that we use today.

This replaces the factory fit boss kit that comes with your air-bag fitted vehicle which then allows you to fit your aftermarket steering wheel. This hub has a 6 bolt mounting pattern and the distance from the centre of the hub to the centre of the facing holes is 69.8mm. Depending on your vehicle you may need to adjust the horn wiring and/or the indicator cancel.

MOMO boss kits will fit steering wheels with a 6x70mm Bolt Pattern (PCD): MOMO, OMP, Sparco, Isotta, NRG etc.

Please note:

This item is for vehicles without original airbag. If unsure please contact us for details.

WARNING:

Replacing the steering wheel in cars with airbag systems will disable the driver’s airbag and possibly others. Do not attempt installation unless properly trained and familiar with the manual. Incorrect installation can cause steering wheel failure, leading to serious injury or death.

MOMO

Momo was founded in 1964 by race car driver Gianpiero Moretti. In that year, Moretti commissioned a local craftsman to produce a custom steering wheel for his own racing car. This special steering wheel – the first Momo steering wheel in the Company’s history – had a superior and thicker grip compared to the normal racing steering wheels available at the time. Drivers from other teams quickly noticed Moretti’s new steering wheel and wanted the same for their cars, and so it started to gain fame within the racing community. The new Momo steering wheel also caught the attention of the then Ferrari Formula One driver, John Surtees, who wanted to mount it on his single-seater car. John Surtees’ Ferrari, equipped with the Momo racing steering wheel, won the Formula One world title in 1964. And so it was that Gianpiero Moretti converted his passion into a manufacturing reality, and Momo (for Moretti Monza) was born.
